Her work includes the provision of legal and tax advice to many “resident, non-domiciled” international clients with assets in various jurisdictions, including those with complex wills and estates.
Welmoed has experience in a wide variety of matters including trust structures, international business transactions and property transactions.
Most of her clients are of non-UK origin. They include individuals who utilise the UK’s “non-domicile” system of taxation and come from a range of backgrounds including private equity executives, art dealers, bankers, investors and other lawyers.
Originally from the Netherlands, Welmoed studied Dutch law in Amsterdam before starting her training as a judge in the Netherlands. Welmoed pursued an international career, moved to New York and graduated magna cum laude from Fordham Law School in New York in 2009.
After moving to London, Welmoed worked in international private client law at a boutique law firm, before moving to Cubism Law in 2013.
Welmoed is a member of the New York Bar as well as being a Solicitor in England & Wales.
Welmoed works closely with colleagues in the Cubism Law European Practice.
