Karen Pollock, Consultant

Formerly a partner at a City insurance practice, Karen’s expertise is in contentious construction, recovery litigation and professional indemnity (with over 15 years experience in solicitors’ P.I. alone). She has acted for employers, main contractors, subcontractors, consultants and insurers providing CAR and PI cover.

Her work in the field of recovery actions includes some substantial (and successful) cases recovering damages for insurers for losses resulting from property damage (fire & flood). She has experience of environmental issues, taking a large claim for damages against a waste disposal company for contamination of a client’s development site.

Her cases defending construction professionals include disputes arising out of alleged defects in high profile contructions at Cardiff Bay and London’s west end and delay and disruption claims also on developments in London. She has acted in contractual disputes in the field of Facilities Management on the back of her construction work. Finally Karen has extensive experience of adjudication (frequently carried out without the use of counsel), arbitration and mediation.
