Woman jailed for fraud

A woman has been jailed after being found guilty of a fraud crime worth almost £20,000.

Amanda Williams has received an 18-month sentence after admitting to one fraud crime at Swindon Crown Court.

The charge relates to Bobbi's Academy of Dance, which is run by the 52-year-old's daughter.

Ms Williams admitted to defrauding the company of £19,398.50 through the use of her job as the administrator of the business, those working in litigation relating to fraud crimes may be interested to hear.

At the trial it was revealed that these fraud crimes had also meant that the dance group was unable to fly to the US to compete in an event, however, alternative funding was found and they were able to attend.

In other news, six men in the US have been charged with fraud crimes in relation to an alleged "boiler room" scheme which took place over an eight-year period.ADNFCR-2391-ID-19261955-ADNFCR
