Security systems 'like spaghetti junction'
Published on 9 Nov 2009 under category: legal
The security systems of many companies are "like spaghetti junction", an expert has claimed.
David Aminzade, director of sales for Northern Europe for Tufin, made this comment in relation to firms' firewall services.
He said that his company aims to improve this systems, which could boost a company's safety from fraud crimes and identity theft, stating that a large part of this comes after a business has merged with a rival.
Mr Aminzade commented: "[We] enable them to start being able to integrate their networks without being able to expose them to a security issue by the acquired company."
These comments come shortly after a study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology suggested that people need to be more vigilant if they are to avoid becoming the victim of hackers, which could result in identity theft fraud crimes.
The research showed that computer programs can be used to allow one system to eavesdrop on another, which could present security threats.
