Retailer announces new franchise

A retail firm has announced its latest international franchise venture.

Payless ShoeSource is expanding its chain into the Philippines.

The move has been agreed thanks to a franchise deal with Store Specialists Inc (SSI).

LuAnn Via, president and chief executive officer for Payless ShoeSource, said: "The franchise model is proving to be the most efficient way to reach more international markets with the Payless brand and all it has to offer - great fashion, well-recognised brands and quality all at a great price."

She added that the partnership with SSI will allow the franchise to take on knowledge and expertise in operating within the Filipino market.

Ms Via went on to say that her firm is "truly excited" at the opportunities that the franchise agreement could present for the firm.

Payless ShoeSource is the largest specialty family footwear retailer in the Western Hemisphere, dealing with the design of shoes and accessories.
