Police in Yorkshire have this week arrested ten people suspected of fraud crimes.

Authorities in Wakefield seized items including £150,000 in cash, gold jewellery and 14 cars, with the vehicles believed to have a collective value of more than £150,000.

The action was taken as part of a crackdown on fraud crimes and money laundering, with businesses and properties in Sandal and Agbrigg at the centre of the operation.

Detective inspector Paul O'Dowd revealed that the police has set up a financial investigation unit to deal with incidents of this nature.

Meanwhile, detective chief inspector Andy Williams, Wakefield district division crime manager, added that he urges anyone who knows anything regarding fraud crimes in the region to contact Crimestoppers.

Police enquiries into these potential fraud crimes are ongoing.
