Pair jailed for tax credit fraud crimes

Details of fraud crimes involving tax office workers have been revealed.

John Brian Agdomar and his accomplice Olanekan Omatayo Ogunmekan have been jailed after being found to have invented more than 1,400 children and claimed more than £1.2 million in tax credits.

The pair were also revealed to have accessed details regarding hundreds of people through Mr Agdomar's job at the Department for Work and Pensions, identity fraud crime investigators may be interested to hear.

Southwark Crown Court has now sentenced Mr Addomar to four-and-a-half-years in prison, while Mr Ogunmekan was given 52 month sentence.

Mr Ogunmekan is also serving a 30 month term due to failing to repay more than £162,000 by September 15th.

The pair's fraud crimes were detected thanks to an investigation by HM Revenue and Customs.
