MW Pension set for legal action against HMRC?

Published on 15 Jul 2009 under category: legal

A retirement income provider could be set to take legal action against HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), it has been claimed.

MW Pensions is reported to be considering suing HMRC after some of its directors were last month arrested in connection with fraud crimes.

The incident saw eleven people, who have since been released on bail, detained due to alleged links with suspected tax fraud.

Solicitor Chris Stott confirmed that MW Pensions directors were among those arrested, adding that they deny any wrongdoing and have not been charged with any offences, those working in commercial litigation may be interested to hear.

Mr Stott stated that this took place on June 22nd and came as part of an investigation by the Financial Services Authority, HMRC and the Pensions Regulator.

In other news, earlier this week it was revealed that software firm Rosetta Stone is taking legal action against search engine giant Google.ADNFCR-2391-ID-19266411-ADNFCR
