Joe Swash declared bankrupt
Published on 4 Nov 2009 under category: legal
Soap star Joe Swash has been declared bankrupt.
The former Eastenders actor was made bankrupt at a London court yesterday (November 3rd).
It is thought that this relates to the failure to pay a £20,000 tax bill.
However, the star's agent Becca Barr has played down the bankruptcy.
She told the Sun that the actor has simply not "been around to sort this out".
Ms Barr added: "The bankruptcy should never have gone through. He's not in financial difficulty - he's fine. There was a tax issue which will be resolved imminently. Everyone has to pay tax and Joe knows he is no exception."
Swash, who lives in a £400,000 London flat, shot to fame for his role as Micky Miller in Eastenders.
Last year, he won the I'm A Celebrity
Get Me Out of Here! TV show and he is currently appearing in a Living TV programme with Pamela Anderson.
