Govt not doing enough for SMEs
Published on 29 Apr 2010 under category: legal
The current government has not done enough to help businesses recover from the impact of the recession, claims a new survey.
USwitchforbusiness.com has found that three-quarters (75 per cent) of UK businesses feel that there has not been enough government support to deal with tough economic conditions.
Just under half of businesses (47.3 per cent) have said that cashflow became a real problem, while 58.4 per cent report that they have had to cut costs.
More than a quarter (28 per cent) believes that a Conservative government will have a better grasp of UK businesses' interests.
Eighteen per cent think that changing administration is the only way to address change.
However, almost a third (30 per cent) think that the only way forward for any future government of whatever colour is to cut out regulations and make British business more competitive.
The current research follows on from several critical missives this week from small business bodies, keen to highlight their importance ahead of the leader's debate on the economy tonight (April 29th).
