Frontier Airlines exits bankruptcy protection
Published on 2 Oct 2009 under category: legal
Frontier Airlines is set to come out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, it has been revealed.
This comes as Republic Airways Holdings completes its acquisition of the firm, bankruptcy solicitors may be interested to hear.
Sean Menke, chief executive officer for Frontier Airways, commented: "This is the end of a long, difficult journey and the beginning of a new, exciting one."
The airline is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings and Lynx Aviation.
It will continue to operate under its own name and will offer the same routes and flights as before it entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Mr Menke added that the hard work of Republic Airways Holdings and Lynx Aviation had helped Frontier Airways complete its restructuring.
Last month, it was revealed that the SkyEurope airline entered bankruptcy, cancelling all flights in the process.
Trading on the carrier's shares on the Vienna Stock Exchange was also suspended after the announcement.
