Fraud crimes case collapses
Published on 18 Jun 2009 under category: legal
The fraud crimes trial of two former healthcare bosses has collapsed.
Dominic Wilson, former finance director at Cawston Park Hospital, and Andrew Breeze, its former chief executive, were accused of fraud crimes against the NHS to the value of £2 million.
However, the judge at the Ipswich Crown Court case dropped the charges upon hearing that no further prosecution evidence would be given.
Mr Breeze criticised the litigation process, telling the BBC that he believes there has been a "big blunder", adding that there has been a "catalogue of errors" in the fraud crimes investigation.
He went on to comment to the news provider: "Norfolk Constabulary's major investigation team needs a root and branches review by the chief constable. I've already written to him asking for that."
In related news, Microsoft has recently began the process of suing three people over fraud crimes.
The IT firm is taking the action regarding concerns of manipulating online click searches.
