A UK business owner was "overwhelmed" and "humbled" when winning a US award for being International Sub Franchise of the Year.

Peter Foster, owner of a UK-based Chem-Dry franchise, was honoured with the award at a ceremony in Hawaii, saying it was a "proud moment" for him and his wife.

The businessman was honoured in this year's awards from US-based carpet cleaning company Chem-Dry.

Mr Foster said: "When I look back at the past ten years, at times it hasn't been easy, but recognition like this makes it all the worthwhile."

He stated that the company has a knowledge-sharing culture which means he can call on fellow franchise owners for advice and help.

Mark Galsworthy, franchise director at Chem-Dry Franchising, added that he is "delighted" a UK firm has been honoured in the franchising awards, saying it is a "fantastic achievement".

The finalists in the industry awards from the British Franchising Association have recently been announced, with the winners to be revealed later this month.ADNFCR-2391-ID-19209497-ADNFCR
