Franchise agreements offer 'proven business systems'

Entering into franchise agreements could be a good way of battling rising unemployment figures, it has been suggested.
Nick Strong, of Franchise Sales and Development in the UK, writing for selectyourfranchise.com, stated that this may take away some of the risks associated with those being made redundant during the recession turning to self employment.
He said those opting for franchise agreements can step into "proven business systems".
Mr Strong explained: "Clearly, operating a proven system and a recognised brand gives the new business person an advantage. A franchise gives the new business person know-how and business development support from day one."
He went on to say that 90 per cent of those opting for this kind of company in the UK go on to run a profitable franchise.
Recently, the Investec Asset Management group set up a financial pot which will invest in attractive companies.
Those with franchise agreements will be the target of the scheme, with Sam Houlie, manager of the fund, saying this was due to the "superior long-term performance" of this type of business.
