Fake chef jailed for fraud crimes

A fake celebrity chef has been jailed after admitting to fraud crimes.

Kenneth Goldsmith has been given a three-and-a-half year term after claming to have trained in Paris and being friends with Gordon Ramsey, Ken Hom and Jamie Oliver.

He admitted to 20 charges relating to fraud crime, as well as one for theft and another for using criminal property.

Lincoln Crown Court heard that the 40 year old convinced businesspeople to invest in his start-up firm, however, this money was then used to cover the cost of his lifestyle.

Kristy Emmans, his partner, was also jailed after admitting eleven charges of fraud crimes and one for theft.

The 38 year old was handed an 18-month prison term.

While sentencing judge Richard O'Rourke described the pair as "financial locusts grazing off the back of other people's hard work and savings".

Elsewhere, in China, a man and a woman were recently executed after carrying out fraud crimes worth more than 850 million yuan (£73 million).ADNFCR-2391-ID-19302324-ADNFCR
