Executives 'opting for franchise agreements'
Published on 1 Jul 2009 under category: legal
Executives looking for a change of pace are turning to white collar franchise agreements, according to a source.
Joel Nelson is one former sales worker who has left his job to take up such a role, reports the Financial Post.
He said that a combination of poor job security and the environment of deadlines and detail replacing interaction with the public left him in need of something different.
Mr Nelson added that enjoyment in his work was dwindling, leading him to become his own boss by seeking out franchise agreements, the news provider states.
According to the source he is far from alone in doing this, with white collar franchise agreements proving to be particularly popular at the moment.
There are franchise opportunities available which allow mid and senior-management executives to use skills such as those involved with marketing, communications and human resources, the publication says.
Recently, Keeley Edge celebrated a year in her Simply Colors franchise business.
