Debt collection suit filed against Neil Morrissey
Published on 26 Jun 2009 under category: legal
A financial services provider is pursuing a leading TV actor over a debt collection issue after the failure of the performer's business.
The Bank of Scotland has lodged a writ with London's High Court over money Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey allegedly owes.
He is being sued for £250,000 as part of the guarantee for a loan of £3.6 million made to Hurst House Langharne, a firm which was liquidated by his insolvency solicitors.
Mr Morrissey initially established three properties in Wales with the hope of starting a hotel and country club group, but the company went into administration last year.
The actor's spokesperson says his client has "no comment to make about the writ at this time".
Earlier this month, Metic Group filed a lawsuit against Northern and Western Insurance due to its failure to deliver promised funds, with a material impact on the claimant.
