Contractor sued over site death
Published on 11 Dec 2009 under category: legal
A woman whose husband was killed in a crane accident has launched legal action.
Michelle O'Donoghue is suing building contractor Harris Calnan Construction.
The legal action comes after Ms O'Donoghue's partner of seven years Craig Page was killed when a crane fell onto him at an Islington building site in March.
An inquest into the incident was adjourned earlier this year when witnesses only answered questions with "no comment" after being advised that their answers could be used in an investigation against them.
It is thought that the legal claim could reach as much as £1 million.
Ms O'Donoghue told hamhigh.co.uk: "I just want someone to be held responsible and someone I can point the finger at. It is not to do with money. Craig was only 26 years old. He did everything for me and our daughter and he would have done for many years."
Earlier this week, a group of parents launched legal action against Maclaren over safety concerns regarding one of the company's push chair buggies.
