Published on 6 May 2010 under category: legal

The finalist for this year's British Franchise Association (bfa) HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards 2010 have been announced, with businesses operating across a number of sectors making the shortlist.

Now in its 21st year, this year's event will see household brands such as Domino's Pizza, McDonald's, LighterLife and Autosmart join Auditel, Bluebird Care, Revive!, Smallprint, X-Press Legal Services, Driver Hire, Tax Assist and Wiltshire Farm Foods vie for the top prize.

Speaking ahead of the awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on June 2nd, bfa director-general Brian Smart explained that the quality of franchises operating in the UK today is particularly impressive given the tough economic climate in which entrepreneurs have been forced to operate in.

"Now that Britain is gaining a strong footing once again, it's important to inspire the next generation of franchisors and franchise owners, and our finalists are doing just that," he added.

Shortlisted franchise Domino's Pizza currently provides support for 135 franchisees across the UK and Ireland, with the news of the nomination coming as it celebrates its 25th anniversary operating franchise agreements here.
