Actor suing Wikipedia
Published on 8 Dec 2009 under category: legal
An actor is suing a website over alleged references regarding his sexuality.
The star, who has appeared in Office Space, Sex in the City and Band of Brothers, is taking litigation action against Wikipedia, according to TMZ.com.
According to the website, which claims to have a copy of the lawsuit, the actor is taking the action due to posts on the website which state that he is in a relationship with a man named Lee Dennison.
It is thought that the changes were first made to the star's Wikipedia page in May.
However, each time that the married actor's representatives correct the alterations, they are almost immediately changed back, the news provider reported.
The legal action, which was filed in a Los Angeles Court, alleges invasion of privacy, libel and use of name and likeness without permission, the website said.
In other celebrity litigation news, signer Mick Hucknell is currently suing one his neighbours over a row regarding shooting and fishing.
