Aberdeen FC suing over Sir Elton gig

Published on 9 Jul 2009 under category: legal

A football club is taking legal action against a firm over maintenance needed following a Sir Elton John concert.

Aberdeen FC is suing promoter Marshall Arts Limited, saying that the club was forced to relay the pitch at its Pittodrie ground after the gig, those working in commercial litigation may be interested to hear.

The work was carried out after Sir Elton's June 2004 concert at the venue caused damage to its grass due to the use of heavy equipment and oil spills.

Marshall Arts Limited had informed the club that the £36,000 price of repairing the pitch would be covered by an insurance claim, however, it is believed that this cost has not yet been met, which has led to the legal action.
