Women driving UK franchise agreements, report reveals

Published on 3 Jun 2010 under category: legal

The number of women likely turning to franchise agreements as they look to build their own business empires is continuing to rise, it has been reported.

Earlier this year, research carried out by NatWest and the British Franchise Association (BFA) found that the number of female franchisees has soared by 86 per cent over the past year alone.

Now, the organisers of this year's British Franchise Exhibition have expressed their confidence that interest in franchise agreements is unlikely to wane anytime soon as UK professionals look to become their own bosses.

"Women are realising the potential of franchising," event manager Adrian Goodsell told the Mirror.

"They can use the business model to take control of their professional lives and strike a healthy balance between work and their personal lives, which is great for working mums."

In April, the BFA reported that demand for the latest edition of the UK Franchise Directory is as strong as ever, despite the tough economic climate and the worry of high business rates.
