Two Cleveland Police chiefs who are currently under investigation for allegations of fraud and corruption, have been released on bail.
Chief Constable Sean Price and his Deputy Derek Bonnard, along with a member of police staff, were arrested following allegations of misconduct in a public office, fraud by abuse of position and corruption. All three have been granted bail while the investigation continues.
Warwickshire police who are conducting the investigation, have confirmed that Price and Bonnard have both been suspended from their jobs and are bailed until October. A statement issued by Cleveland Police Authority confirmed their suspension, but emphasized that it should not be inferred from the decision to suspend that the facts of the matter have been proven.
