Charlie Gilkes, 27 and Duncan Stirling, 30 – the amiable and entrepreneurial double act behind some of west London’s most popular haunts – tell me they’re “obsessed with detail”.

Bunga Bunga in Battersea, the pair’s recently launched third joint venture takes it’s name from Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s lascivious soirees. The name is deceiving though for inside the two-storey ‘Englishman’s Italian Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke’, Ruby, Sabine and Aida are not glamorous hostesses, they are wooden fired pizza ovens.

Since launching in midsummer Bunga Bunga has seen a who’s who of Chelsea society flock to it, with more than 2,500 customers through it’s doors each week, including regulars like TV Chef Antonio Carluccio and footballer Gianluca Vialli.

Previously Charlie and Duncan created Kitts nightclub under the Sloane Square Hotel which opened in 2006 and their eighties themed nightclub ‘Maggies’ which opened last year. The pair already have another new venture as yet unnamed in the pipeline which will be located a stone’s throw from Claridge’s.

“It’s to be a traditional quintessential English tea room”, says Charlie, while also admitting the pair have spent a large amount of money to secure the necessary infrastructure but are keeping the costs down by being as creative with detail as possible.

Cubism Law’s David Salamons has worked with Charlie and Duncan since they started in business advising them on both the corporate and property side of their ventures, he commented "It’s such a pleasure to see Duncan and Charlie doing so well. They have worked hard and unlike many in the restaurant and bar business they do treat it as a business as well as fun and have a really good grasp of detail, from a lawyer's point of view they are incredibly responsive to advice and suggestions!"

Cubism Law offer a variety of services to clients active in the food and beverage and hospitality markets.
