Clubbers in Wolverhampton have won a £75,000 compensation claim from the city council after they fell and injured themselves on a night out.
Six individuals claimed to have been injured at the Cheeky Monkey and Blast Off events organised at Wolverhampton Civic Hall over the course of three years, the Birmingham Post has reported.
According to the individuals making the claim, local authority cleaning staff had failed to make sure that the building and its floors met health and safety standards for these events.
Four of the claimants received the compensation verdict, while two agreed to settle before the trial.
Speaking to the paper, one of the lawyers who helped secure the claim said: "The fact that there were a number of incidents over a long timeframe undoubtedly helped us to demonstrate that there was lack of reasonable care shown towards the people attending these events, by the management on an on-going basis."
He added that the claimants had suffered loss of income because of their injuries.
